In a new Israeli onslaught against the Palestinian people, more than a hundred people died and dozens were injured in an attack on the al-Tabai'een school, located in the Al-Daraj neighborhood, in the center of Gaza City.

The school facilities were used as a shelter for the displaced. The attack coincided with the time of morning prayers. Most of the victims are children.

Israeli occupation planes bombed the faithful with multiple missiles, destroying most of the bodies, the Palestinians cannot identify many of the victims

Rescue teams are working on the spot, trying to put out the fire to remove the bodies of the deceased and rescue the injured, reports the RT agency.

The Gaza Government Media Office issued a statement calling the attack a “massacre”. “This fact is clearly framed in the crime of genocide and ethnic cleansing against our Palestinian people”

He also indicated that due to the large number of victims, it has not yet been possible to recover all the bodies.

“We condemn in the strongest terms the perpetration of this horrible massacre by the occupation and call on everyone to condemn it. We hold the Israeli occupation and the U.S. administration fully responsible for this massacre,” the Office said.

He also urged the community and international organizations to “pressure” Israel to put an end to “the crime of genocide and ethnic cleansing against civilians and displaced persons in the Gaza Strip” and to help stop “the cascade of blood that flows” in the enclave.

For their part, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which immediately reported the bombing, alleged that the building served as a hiding place for Hamas militants who were planning attacks against Israeli military personnel.

Despite the preliminary high death toll, the Israeli Army stated that “several measures were taken to reduce the possibility of civilian casualties, including the use of precise ammunition, aerial surveillance and intelligence information.”
