Academia Puerto Cabello advances to phase 3 of the 2024 Copa Libertadores

The Venezuelan Academia Puerto Cabello signed on Tuesday its continuity in the 2024 Copa Libertadores by beating the Uruguayan Defensor Sporting 4-2 on penalties, in the second leg of the first phase played in Montevideo.

Puerto Cabello made it to the second round despite losing 1-0 in the 90 minutes at the Centenario Stadium, but asserted its 3-2 victory to force penalties.

Federico Bravo, Christian Moreno, Stevy Okitokandjo and Carlos Cermeño were responsible for scoring the Venezuelan goals from the blank spot. Octavio Rivero and Nicolás Rodríguez did it for the charrua painting.

Puerto Cabello will be the rival of Nacional de Uruguay in the second phase, in games scheduled for the 21st and 28th of this month in Montevideo.
