This Thursday, the Administrative Commission of the Partial Commercial Scope Agreement No. 28 was installed, which regulates the commercial relationship between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Colombia.
This day was led by the Minister of Popular Power of Foreign Trade, Coromoto Godoy, and the Colombian Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Diana Morales, where they addressed issues of bilateral interest to transform the commercial relationship into a model of shared benefit and regional complementarity.
During her speech, Minister Godoy emphasized that this meeting is the crystallization of the political will expressed by President Gustavo Petro and President (E), Delcy Rodríguez, to give continuity to the binational meeting held last March 13 at the Miraflores Palace.
“Colombia and Venezuela are determined to move forward. These high-level meetings are a mutual reaffirmation between our peoples to promote a constructive agenda that elevates all the great potentialities of the complementarity of both countries. We are here to translate peace diplomacy into economic prosperity that is tangible for our peoples,” he said.
He also highlighted the commitment to turn the commercial relationship between Colombia and Venezuela into a virtuous example of complementarity and joint growth for the Latin American and Caribbean region. “The goal of this Commission is not only to review documents; it is to energize the productive machinery of the liveliest border in Latin America,” he added.
For her part, the Colombian minister, who participated virtually in the installation, asserted that this space becomes an epicenter of dialogue that represents the will to work for two sister nations.
“It is an honor to install this Commission that can govern our relations, so that our productive apparatuses have a clear framework of economic prosperity. The idea is to understand each other with complementary economies, creating a binational productive block,” he said.
