The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), issued a statement this Saturday, January 3rd, in which it “absolutely condemned the act of war perpetrated by the Government of the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the early morning of January 3rd.”

The statement was published by the Executive Secretary of ALBA-TCP, on his account on the social network Telegram.

In the letter, it highlights that “we denounce this illegal military aggression and immediately demand the life faith of Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros, as well as his immediate and unconditional release, and absolute respect for his physical, political and moral integrity”.

“This act constitutes an extremely serious international crime, a flagrant violation of international law and a direct threat to peace in Latin America and the Caribbean,” he said.

Peña said that from ALBA “we ratify our support for the Venezuelan people and their Bolivarian Government, who have demonstrated - and will continue to demonstrate - their historic capacity to preserve internal stability, social peace and constitutional order in the face of this serious external aggression.”

“Venezuela is not alone,” he said.
