This Thursday, November 21, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), issued a statement, in which it expresses its strongest condemnation of the unilateralism imposed by the United States in the United Nations Security Council, by vetoing for the fourth time, a draft resolution, supported by all other members of that body, which demands a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and unrestricted access to humanitarian aid for the Palestinian population in that illegally occupied territory.

The letter, published on ALBA_TCP's social media accounts, highlights that “this action reveals, once again, the Washington Government's sustained complicity with Israel.”

Below is the full text of the statement:

The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) express their strongest condemnation of the unilateralism imposed by the United States in the United Nations Security Council, by vetoing for the fourth time, on November 20, 2024, a draft resolution, supported by all other members of that body, demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and unrestricted access to humanitarian aid for the Palestinian population in that illegally occupied territory.

This action reveals, once again, the Washington Government's sustained complicity with Israel, the occupying Power, which allows it to carry out its war crimes with total impunity, the continuity of the genocide and the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe; as well as the imminent famine to which the brotherly Palestinian people are exposed, if the massacre against the innocent population in Gaza is not stopped.

The ALBA-TCP rejects the Security Council's inaction to stop the aggressions and flagrant violations of the Charter of the United Nations, International Law and International Humanitarian Law that are taking place in Gaza and other illegally occupied Palestinian territories.

The Bolivarian Alliance reiterates its call to the international community to take decisive action, and without further delay, to put a definitive stop to the bloody attacks and genocide against Palestine and all the peoples affected by the war escalation.
