ALBA-TCP creates Mission for the Defense of Sovereignty

The executive secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), Rander Peña, announced the creation of a special mission that will visit the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean to defend the declaration of a zone of peace.

Peña explained that this mission will be composed of “high-level delegates from member States and will have the purpose of visiting the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean to defend the declaration of a zone of peace, to dialogue with governments, parliaments, academics and peoples; to mobilize regional and international support for the sovereignty, stability and self-determination of our peoples.”

After the conclusion of the XXVI Political Council of the Alliance, in a joint statement, the integrationist bloc reiterated its commitment to the defense of the sovereignty, independence and peace of America; and rejected the military deployment of the United States in the Caribbean.

In addition, he repudiated the report issued by the United States Department of State that qualifies Venezuela as a drug producer and transit country and expressed his support for the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and rejected the accusations against him.
