ALBA reiterates its warning of the danger that “the situation in Palestine represents for regional peace and stability”

The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), issued a statement in solidarity with the president of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Luiz lnácio Lula da Silva, who was declared a “persona non grata” in Israel.

The alliance highlighted that the president of Brazil is “a leader of his country and of our America, a faithful defender of human rights, as well as of the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations, international law and respect for the self-determination of peoples.”

They have also warned of the danger that “the situation in Palestine represents for regional peace and stability”, so they demand a just and definitive solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through dialogue, based on a two-State solution, allowing Palestine to exercise the right to self-determination as an independent and sovereign State”.

The alliance also called on the international community to impose an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, to stop the massacre and to determine the responsibility for crimes against humanity.”
