Almost unanimous! Ricardo Sánchez won the Pitcher of the Year award for the LVBP 2025-2026 season

Pitcher Ricardo Sánchez, from Navegantes del Magallanes, almost unanimously won the “Carrao” Bracho Pitcher of the Year award for the 2025-2026 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP).
Sánchez took first place with 59 out of 60 votes and accumulated 298 points, after an excellent campaign, this being his third season in Venezuelan professional ball.
In that sense, he beat the closer of Águilas del Zulia, Silvino Bracho, who had 105 points with one vote for first place, 28 for second and 16 for third.
The third place went to the left-handed player of the Caracas Lions, José Marcos Torres, with 78 points (he appeared on 19 ballots as deserving of second place and 21 for third).
Sanchez, in 13 starts in the Regular Round, finished with a 5-1 ERA, which was the most wins this season. His 3.04 ERA was the best in the league, he threw more innings than any other serpentine player (68.0), was second in strikeouts with 58 (second only to Zac Grotz's 64) and his WHIP was 1.32, LVBP press review.
The one born in Puerto la Cruz became the seventh shooter for Magallanes and the second in a row to win the distinction.
