The
designated ambassador of Venezuela, Gladys Gutiérrez Alvarado, presented the
Style Copies to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom
of Spain, as part of her diplomatic accreditation process in that country.
The delivery
took place at the Santa Cruz Palace, headquarters of the Spanish Foreign Ministry, where the general
director of Protocol, Chancellery and Orders, María Sebastián de Erice
García de la Peña, in her capacity as Introducer of Ambassadors, received the credentials of the
new Venezuelan diplomatic representative.
During the
meeting, both authorities held a conversation on issues of binational
interest, highlighting the deep historical ties that unite the
two countries and the importance of continuing to strengthen diplomatic ties between Caracas and Madrid.
After
receiving the Gutiérrez Alvarado Style Copies, the next step
will be the presentation of the Credentials by the Ambassador to
the head of State of Spain, King Felipe VI.
It will be the second
time that Ambassador Gladys Gutiérrez has participated in this ceremony, having
been appointed in 2002 as the highest diplomatic representative of Venezuela in
Spain, a position she held until 2005.
On April 16, the National Assembly unanimously approved the appointment of Gutiérrez
Alvarado as Head of Mission of the Venezuelan Embassy in Spain, with
among the priority objectives of her administration the strengthening of
institutional ties, continuing with the reactivation of economic ties, contributing to the optimization of
consular services and strengthening cultural diplomacy, in the exercise of
Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace.
