Ambassador of Botswana presented Copies of Style to the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa, Yuri Pimentel, received this Friday the Style Copies of the designated ambassador of the Republic of Botswana to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Benetia Tumelo Chigapane, concurrent from Brasilia, Brazil.

The protocol ceremony was held at the Casa Amarilla Antonio José de Sucre, in Caracas. The Style Copies before the Foreign Ministry constitute a step prior to the presentation of the Credential Letters to the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

Benetia Tumelo Chigapane is a career diplomat with 26 years of service. In November 2023, she was appointed ambassador of Botswana to the Federative Republic of Brazil, concurrent with Uruguay and Paraguay. It has also been designated as a competitor against Chile, Argentina, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Caricom and Mercosur.

Venezuela and Botswana established diplomatic relations in 2007 and maintain ties based on bilateral and multilateral cooperation, respect for sovereignty and the right to development. Both nations participate in international forums and support each other in initiatives such as the defense of multilateralism and the construction of the “Global South”.
