The Venezuelan ambassador in Bogotá,
Orlando Maniglia, participated in the 38th Bogota International Book Fair
(FILBO), where he held meetings with the Venezuelan delegation present at the event.
During his tour of the
Venezuelan stand, organized by the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture, the
diplomat discovered an editorial offer that exceeds 200 titles
from public, private and independent publishers in the country.
Maniglia ratified
Venezuela's commitment to promoting the reading and dissemination of its authors at this
meeting, which he described as “one of the most important cultural events in the
world.”
He also highlighted the cultural value of
Bogotá as the setting for the fair and its historical link with the Liberator
Simon Bolivar, who resided in the city for part of his life.
The Venezuelan delegation included figures
such as Luis Britto García, as well as Benito Yrady, Mirla Alcibiades, Rosanna
Álvarez, Aminta Beleño and Neguel Machado, who presented their most recent works as part of the program.
In this edition of the FILBO, which
takes place from April 21 to May 4 under the motto “To listen to us is to read to us”, authors and publishers from different countries
participate, with India as the guest
of honor and an agenda that exceeds 2,300 cultural and literary activities.
