The National Assembly (AN), in regular session, agreed to defer its second discussion of the Bill on Commands for the Integral Defense of the Nation.

The decision was taken following the request submitted by Deputy Gloria Castillo to the President of Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, with the objective of making the necessary modifications and corrections to the text of the law. The adjournment was approved for discussion at an upcoming regular session on Thursday.

The bill establishes the legal framework for the organization, operation and coordination of the Commands for Integral Defense, bodies responsible for coordinating the defense capacities of the State and the population. The standard provides for the integration of Management Bodies for Integral Defense (ODDI) at all territorial levels.
