AN approved Agreement that awards the Honors of the National Pantheon to Joaquina Sánchez and Eulalia Buroz

This Thursday, the National Assembly (AN) unanimously approved the Draft Agreement by which the Honors of the National Pantheon are awarded to our distinguished patriotic heroines Josefa Joaquina Sánchez and Eulalia Buroz.

In this regard, the deputy, Liliana González, who presented the Draft Agreement, highlighted the legacy of struggle of these two patriotic women at different times, they left an anti-imperialist mark.

“Joaquina, is the symbol of that woman who integrated love and loyalty for her country, the woman who embroidered the first flag of Venezuela (...) on the other hand, Eulalia joined the independence cause since she was 16 and already at 21 she feared the executioners,” he said before the plenary.

In this regard, the parliamentarian urged today's women to follow the gallant example of these Venezuelan heroines.
