AN approved by qualified majority the Draft Agreement of the Decree of the State of Economic Emergency

The National Assembly (AN) approved, by qualified majority, the Draft Agreement to consider the Decree of the State of Economic Emergency issued by the Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros.

“Consequently, citizen secretary, please send it to the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice in accordance with the provisions of article 31 of the Organic Law on State of Emergency and to the official gazette for the purpose of its publication,” said the president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez.

In this regard, Rodríguez explained that the Economic Emergency Decree aims to protect the Venezuelan people from economic predation and the crazed elites that currently dominate U.S. politics.

In addition, he described the tariff measures of the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, as a crisis of global capitalism and imperialist hegemony, stating that these policies represent an economic pandemic that seriously affects the international scene.

Rodríguez pointed out that the institutions and economic policies imposed by US imperialism in times of hegemony are now the main victims of a global crisis unleashed by the tariff and trade war.
