AN Commission approves report for the second discussion of the Law on NGOs

The Standing Committee on Internal Policy of the National Assembly (AN) approved the Report for the second discussion of the Bill on Oversight, Regularization, Action and Financing of Non-Profit Social Organizations.

“On the part of the Internal Policy Committee, the legal procedure has already been completed. It is at the disposal of the plenary that the text be submitted for second discussion and approval,” said the first vice-president of the commission, Deputy Julio García Zerpa.

In this regard, Zerpa explained that the bill contains 39 articles and establishes the registration parameters of NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations), which must explain their funding channels, national or international.

According to what was published on the AN web portal, the parliamentarian added that, after the approval in the first discussion of the bill, there was a wide public consultation in all the states of the country in which social sectors and non-profit organizations participated.
