The board of directors of the National Assembly (AN) decided to form a Special Commission to initiate legislation from Parliament on social networks and their impact on children and adolescents
The information was provided by the president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, who specified that the Commission will be composed of members of the Standing Committees on Family, Education, Health, Science and Technology and on Domestic Policy.
“In the next few hours, the plenary will know the composition of this Special Committee so that it can submit reports to the National Assembly on a peremptory basis,” Rodríguez said.
It should be noted that a 12-year-old girl died after ingesting some pills as part of a challenge she had seen through social networks with classmates.
In this regard, President Nicolás Maduro gave TikTok 72 hours to remove criminal challenges from the platform after the death of two teenagers in the country after using drugs following the challenge published on the social network.
