AN installed Special Commission to oversee the implementation of the Amnesty Law

The National Assembly (AN) installed the Special Commission responsible for overseeing the application of the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence.

The body will coordinate with the organs of the judicial system to organize procedures related to the application of the rule and to review cases that require treatment after its enactment, according to information provided by Presa AN.

Deputy Jorge Arreaza assumed the presidency of the commission, accompanied by Deputy Nora Bracho in the vice-presidency. Both began a work program after taking office.

The creation of this commission responds to that request and marks the beginning of the institutional monitoring process.

When the amnesty law was enacted, the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, asked the Parliament to act quickly to resolve situations not included in the text of the law.
