The National Assembly (AN) unanimously approved the Simon Bolivar Liberation Organic Law against the Imperialist Blockade and for the Defense of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in its first discussion.
“This National Assembly feels privileged to be able to start this debate in order to be able to give an instrument to the People with which justice will be done and the most sacred thing that Venezuelans have will be respected, which is the name of our Father of the Fatherland, the Liberator Simon Boliva r,” said Deputy Iris Valera.
He stressed that this instrument has a patriotic burden that will be nourished in the coming days in Public Consultation.
This legislation comes in response to the Bolivar Law approved by the United States, which imposes sanctions and unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela.
This new legal instrument seeks to politically disable in perpetuity those individuals who support sanctions against the country. In addition, the law proposes to apply the Domain Extinction Act so that recovered resources are used exclusively to combat the blockade and sanctions.
The approval of this law is interpreted as a measure of defense and resistance against what the Venezuelan government considers economic and political aggressions by other countries.
