The National Assembly (AN) will request the appearance of former deputies from the period 2015-2020, to gather evidence for the dispossession and theft of CITGO, a subsidiary of Petroleum of Venezuela (PDVSA) in the United States.

This was reported this Friday, the 19th, by the president of the Special Commission Investigating the Participation of Opposition Political Parties and Representatives of the Legislature 2015-2020 in the Dispossession and Theft of Citgo, Deputy Pedro Infante.

In a press release published on the AN website, he points out that at the end of the meeting held at the Federal Legislative Palace, Infante explained that the purpose is to record the summons of the possible parties involved, knowing that many do not reside in Venezuela.

He indicated that they made a “hampogram” that included Carlos Vecchio, Iván Simonovis, Kennedy Bolívar, Jesús Pérez Oropeza and Horacio Medina.

He specified that there is a list of more than 300 potential suspects, including deputies from the previous legislature, who approved the so-called “transitional statute for democracy”; the ad hoc and ad hoc administrative boards; of political parties and the members, as well as those responsible, of non-profit organizations that received resources through the Simon Bolivar Foundation, owned by CITGO.

On this occasion, the international director of Latinamerican Oil, Gas & Energy, Alejandro Terán Martínez, was invited to contribute to the research. For future meetings, others will be invited, quote the circular.

Last Tuesday, this commission was installed by mandate of the plenary of the National Parliament, which must advance the investigations.

The objective of this instance is to determine the responsibilities of those who, being in the opposition political parties, approved measures to the detriment of CITGO and the Venezuelan heritage.
