The Venezuelan Anthony Santander, who was in free agency, signed a contract with the Toronto Blue Jays of the Best League Baseball (MLB).

As reported by sports media, the man from Margarita signed a juicy five-year contract for 92.5 million dollars.

However, Santander will have the option to exit the agreement after the 2028 season. For their part, the Blue Jays will be able to retain the Venezuelan if they decide to exercise a team option for the 2030 season.

The Venezuelan will remain in the Eastern Division of the American League, after playing for eight seasons with the Baltimore Orioles.

Last season, despite having .235 with an on-base percentage of .308, Santander had a slugging of .506 with a personal record of 44 home runs (second in the American League behind Aaron Judge) and 102 RBIs (ninth place).

Toronto is the third organization to which Anthony Santander belongs as a professional. He was signed by the Cleveland Indians in 2011 as an international free agent and the Orioles took him in 2016.
