This Sunday, September 14, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda, Chet Greene, reaffirmed his solidarity with Venezuela in the face of the aggressions of North American imperialism.

“Our country reaffirms its solidarity with Venezuela and we renew our call to defend democracy, sovereignty and the rule of law,” he said during the 25th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP).

He also indicated that under the principles of Commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez Frías, solidarity inspires them to maintain the union “to safeguard the region as a region of peace, free from military intervention and any conflict.”

He pointed out that the Caribbean Sea must be a corridor of development and cultural exchange and “never a theater for geopolitical rivalries or militarization.”

For this reason, he called on the ALBA-TCP countries to “defend the Charter of the United Nations, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries and the right of all nations, regardless of their size or politics, to follow their own pace or path of development without intimidation or undue pressure. May ALBA be a guardian of perpetual peace!”
