On Tuesday, the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), António Guterres, reiterated that the end of the war of genocide waged by Israel against the Gaza Strip represents a global urgency, given the growing complexity of the scenario and the need to respect the sovereignty of both Peoples.

Guterres urged world leaders to take advantage of the high-level debate of the UN General Assembly, which will be held from September 23 to 29, as an opportunity to analyze concrete strategies that lead to a solution based on the coexistence of two States, a proposal that, according to the organization, is the only viable way to achieve lasting peace in the region.

In the public appearance, the Secretary General emphasized that the recognition of Palestine as a sovereign State is a fundamental step, and that the support of the 150 heads of State and Government convened to the General Assembly could represent a significant step in that direction.
