In order to stabilize the electricity system and improve the water supply in the state of Anzoátegui, Governor Luis José Marcano announced this Monday, May 11, a series of strategic investments and the transfer of resources to popular power.
He explained that this measure seeks to respond to the increase in energy consumption in the region, which recently increased from 500 to 900 megawatts (MW), with peaks of up to 1,200 MW in recent days, as a result of high temperatures and increased commercial and industrial economic activities.
As part of the strengthening of local management, the regional president confirmed the transfer of 149,000 dollars to 25 communes of the entity. These financial resources will allow the execution of 25 public service projects, of which five are dedicated exclusively to the recovery and optimization of the drinking water system.
The municipalities that will receive priority attention under this water investment scheme are Anaco, Juan Antonio Sotillo and Simón Bolívar.
In addition to financial resources, Marcano assured that in the coming days new technical equipment will be added to address faults and reduce unscheduled outages. These actions are carried out in direct coordination with the Ministry of Power for Water and the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC).
These measures were discussed and approved at a working table with Bolivarian mayors together with representatives of CORPOELEC and HIDROVEN.
