The representation of Aragua inaugurated their participation in the 2026 Women's Táchira Cycling Tour with an outstanding performance in the first stage, placing two of their riders on the podium in the general classification.
The talented María Joaquina Sánchez crossed the finish line in second place, a position that was replicated by promising young Stefany Aular, who finished in third place. This Aragüeño double was not only reflected in the stage, but it also gave them the same positions in the provisional general classification of the competition.
The dominance of the Aragueña delegation, supported by the Bolivarian government of Aragua and the governor Joana Sánchez, expands in the youth field, where Aular and Sánchez occupy first and second place respectively, demonstrating the strength and projection of women's cycling in Aragüeño.
Thanks to this collective performance, the Lotería de Aragua team has two podiums and is in a meritorious second place in the team classification, only behind the traditional Lotería del Táchira. With this base, Aragua, through its representation composed of the Aragua Lottery team and the Cycling Team, is emerging as one of the main candidates to be crowned in the absolute classification at the end of the second stage, to be held this Sunday, according to a regional press release.
