This Monday, the Aragua Tacarigua Airport Autonomous Service in Aragua officially launched its commercial operations after six years of inactivity.
The reactivation was implemented in an accelerated manner as part of an air contingency plan to meet the demand of users affected by the situation at Maiquetía International Airport, in the state of La Guaira.
In this regard, Caryl Bertho, general director of the Aragüeño air terminal, reported that this reopening is the result of a strategic alliance with the flag carrier Conviasa, which will not only guarantee the transfer of passengers who already had a ticket office, but will also maintain the active sale of tickets at the airport facilities to continue connecting Aragua with the rest of the country.
Bertho also stressed that the facilities had been the subject of a structural improvement plan planned for the medium term, thanks to the support of the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, and under the instructions of the governor of the state of Aragua, Joana Sánchez. However, the emergency on the central coast forced work to accelerate to provide an immediate response to the nation.
