The sister of the president of Argentina, Karina Milei, who serves as his Secretary of the Presidency, turned out to be involved in a corruption scheme. According to audios quoted by the local media, La Sexta received bribes when buying medicines

Diego Spagnuolo, former director of the National Disability Agency, said in an audio that Karina Milei should “reach between 3% and 4%”. That percentage would amount to a total of 800,000 dollars a month for the sister of the Argentine president from the extra costs of buying medicines from a single pharmacist.

According to Juan Luis González, journalist and author of the first unauthorized biography of Javier Milei, he highlights that “the contracts are signed and were paid for”. “The company with which the government would have made the rigged tenders grew by 1,000% in the states' contract with this government,” he says.

According to La Sexta, the audios of the president's own sister have come to light and they make no reference to Diego Spagnuolo's records, but rather asks “not to get into the fight”. “We have to be united. I enter at 8:00am and leave the Casa Rosada at 11:00pm,” the policy states in the recording.

“There is talk of a one-hour recording, in which it doesn't say anything relevant, but the message is that it's recorded, and that more things are going to appear,” Juan Luis González stresses, adding that “Karina Milei is Javier Milei; they are inseparable; she is the most powerful person than the government, more than even her brother”.

In the midst of this scandal, Milei has defended that everything is a lie: “It's just another item on the list of caste gadgets”.
