Argentina: Massive blackout recorded in Buenos Aires

A massive blackout that occurred this Wednesday night in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) in the midst of the heat wave in the capital of Argentina.

According to local media, the streets of Buenos Aires became real mouths of wolves, with residential areas full of buildings that suffered from a lack of light. Added to this were complaints about water scarcity in several affected areas.

Netizens, under the hashtag #sinluz, generated a wide debate about political responsibilities in this situation, especially in the summer season.

They expressed their dissatisfaction when they pointed out that the rates applied have increased since Javier Milei became president: “they remove subsidies, but the cuts continue”, and they added that “there has been no electricity since 8 at night and in Edesur no one cares for you”.
