This Thursday, the teaching union in Argentina began a 48-hour strike in demand of the government of Javier Milei for a salary increase; in addition, they plan to convene a new Federal University march in September.

In this regard, the general secretary of the National Federation of University Teachers (Conadu), Carlos De Feo, indicated that after the approval of the Law on Funding for Public Universities in Congress, it meant an “important advance” for the teaching and non-teaching guild of study houses.

Despite the 48-hour strike over a wage demand, he pointed out that the fight must be reinforced and “a great university march carried out,” said the general secretary of Conadu.

He also indicated that it is imperative to vigorously pronounce on the table, the decision of workers, students and the university community.

This is in order to “continue fighting for a university that complies with Argentineans' right to higher education,” said De Feo.
