Argentina: University Guild marches against President Milei's cuts

This Tuesday, in Argentina, students, teachers, members of political organizations, unions and human rights defenders are marching across much of the country in defense of public education and in rejection of the budget cut for universities carried out by the Government of Javier Milei.
Under the slogan “in defense of free public universities”, multiple acts of protest will be held across the country, with an epicenter in the city of Buenos Aires, where a march will take place that will begin at 03:30 (local time) in front of the Congress and will end in Plaza de Mayo.
According to detailed information from Telesur, the vice-president of the National Inter-University Council (CIN), Oscar Alpa, the main reasons for the call for the march in favor of public education.
Alpa explained that the funds for operating expenses used to cover school maintenance fees “do not reach 50 percent of what is required today,” taking into account the increase in inflation in the country.
