Argentine Chamber of Deputies promotes impeachment against Milei for cryptoscam

The Argentine Chamber of Deputies announced the decision to promote an impeachment against the far-right president, Javier Milei, following the scam with the cryptocurrency $LIBRA, promoted by the president.

In a statement, the deputies accuse Milei “for poor performance and possible crimes committed in the exercise of his duties”.

In this regard, in accordance with the provisions of Article 53 of the National Constitution of the Argentine Republic, the parliamentarians decided to set up a commission that will investigate the responsibility of the “libertarian” president in the cryptocurrency scam, which embezzled hundreds of investors.

In addition, the Chamber of Deputies requested the intervention of the Anti-Corruption Office, “to rule on these same facts.”

Recently, Milei publicly promoted, on his social networks, the cryptocurrency $LIBRA, which led many people to invest, but the value of this token, created within the blockchain of the Solana platform, plummeted rapidly, causing losses of more than 1.5 billion dollars.
