The governor of the state of Mérida, Arnaldo
Sánchez, called on all People's Power to work together to turn the state into a power.
“Our fundamental principle, in
every step we take, will be to turn Mérida into one of the safest states in
the country, to turn Mérida into a power state,” said Sánchez, during the swearing in as governor elected for the period 2025-2029,
from the Mukumbarí cable car facilities.
Sánchez emphasized that his commitment will be
to govern together with the People with “less desk and more territory, as
President Nicolás Maduro instructed us, to leave the seat of the governor's office and go to the territory.”
“We are going to work to provide quality care
to our people and consolidate supreme social happiness. We are going
to work hard to take care of our ecosystem to ensure the
preservation of human life and we will open the doors of Mérida to the world,” he added.
The governor-elect asserted that the victory in the elections of May 25 is a demonstration that the Bolivarian Project is unstoppable. “Mérida will be the epicenter of great achievements and the most important thing is that we will consolidate popular power and self-government in the territory,” he said.
“The Revolution is not negotiated, it is
worked on and deepened with love for our people. You are all governors and
governors of the state of Mérida,” he said.
