On September 15, a direct maritime route between Venezuela and Turkey will be activated, with the objective of deepening bilateral trade relations, according to Hayri Kucukyavuz, president of the Venezuelan Turkish Business Chamber (CAVETURK).
This new route will allow Venezuela to export products such as pineapple, mango, parchita, lemon and avocado directly. The first trip will sail from the Turkish port of Iskenderun to La Guaira, Venezuela.
Kucukyavuz said that the route will facilitate and increase trade between the two countries, with the goal of reaching 3 billion dollars in three years. In addition, this service will reduce transport time from 60 to 18 days, significantly optimizing logistics.
The cost of freight is estimated at $3,400, similar to that of international shipping companies. The president of CAVETURK celebrated this achievement, which he describes as the first step of a guild that already includes more than 60 companies. The first ship will carry 400 containers, equivalent to 10,000 tons, with products such as wheat flour, pasta, chocolate, motor oil and various hygiene items.
Kucukyavuz invited production companies with export potential to join CAVETURK to fill the containers and ensure the success of the first trip.
