At least 14 dead leave a storm in the Gaza Strip

A storm that hit the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours caused at least 14 victims and several injuries, following the collapse of houses and makeshift shelters in various parts of the Palestinian territory.

Heavy rains and strong winds have aggravated the situation of thousands of displaced people living in precarious structures, Al Mayadeen reported.

The International Organization for Migration has warned that around 795,000 Palestinians are in danger due to weather conditions.

In Beit Lahia, five people died and several were injured after the collapse of a house that served as a shelter in Bir al-Na'ja. In Gaza City, two citizens died when a wall collapsed on tents in the Al-Rimal neighborhood.

The extreme cold also caused victims: a child died in Al-Shati and a newborn died a few hours later in the same camp. Another citizen had already lost his life due to the collapse of a wall in that area. In Abu Jabal, in Al-Amadi, two minors were injured when their tent collapsed.

In Khan Yunis, a newborn died of hypothermia in the Al-Mawasi area, where floods also occurred

. Civil Protection teams reported the collapse of at least ten houses in different sectors, including Al-Karama and Sheikh Radwan. The floods affected Al-Mawasi, Khan Yunis, Al-Bassa, Al-Baraka, Deir al-Balah, the central market of Nuseirat, Yarmouk and Al-Mina.
