Attorney General confirms care for families of post-election victims and detainees

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported that through the Public Ministry, family members of post-election victims, and family members of detainees, have been treated during an interview on the program Abriendo Puertas de Venevisión, this Sunday.
“We have given important attention to both the families of those killed, 28 killed and 190 injured, following riots that were criminal with fatalities and the destruction of at least 500 public institutions,” said the prosecutor.
He also valued the respect for human rights guaranteed by the Venezuelan state. “I call for reflection, these people have rights too. We have also met with the families of those arrested in the events. All these events were coordinated, and were ordered by those who are now fugitives.”
“We have carried out the review of the measures following the call of the President of the Republic. There are releases after a review of the measures. Victims of terrorism must be made visible, they must know that these people have mourners. There were people who burned, that person has a mother,” he stressed.
He stressed that these actions are criminal “however, we have total calm and coexistence in the country entering this holiday season, but we must not forget that opposition violence triggered 28 deaths after the elections of July 28.”
The Attorney General of the Republic reported last November 11 that 1,192 experiments and investigative steps have been carried out by prosecutors of the Public Ministry, following acts of violence promoted by ultra-right wing groups, after the elections of last July 28, where the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nico Lás Maduro, was elected with a sweeping victory.
