Authorities reconnect electrical system in Cuba

A total of 19% of the island already has electricity

The Cuban Ministry of Energy and Mines reported that the island has a nationally reconnected electrical system, and that it has been activated gradually after complying with the protocols established after a generation of 973 Megawatts.

According to a press release published on the AlmaPlusTV website, only the provinces of Artemisa and Pinar del Rio continue to have microsystems and are expected to be intertwined with the new System, after the entry of the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric power plant (CTE).

“The start-up process of the Antonio Guiteras CTE, with the largest generation capacity in the territory, as did unit eight of Mariel and three of Renté,” explained the ministerial portfolio.
