The Treasury Bank (BT) protects its customers against online scams, with text messaging, emails and informational tips, which it disseminates daily, on all its official social networks.

The BT invites the population not to fall into deception, through suspicious links, other than emails or SMS, sent by the financial institution, that request the sending of personal and sensitive information such as passwords, codes, card or account numbers, press reports Banco del Tesoro.

Through the “Caution is Your Shield” campaign, BT provides tips to avoid the Phishing attack, through which cybercriminals obtain information from their victims, creating false links, mirror web pages and impersonation, with the intention of discrediting a financial institution.

This type of electronic social engineering (Phishing), practiced by these cybercriminals, is intended for customers to click and enter a page, which is a copy of the official one, where they provide their login code, ID and user, to make use of that data and commit fraud.

The Treasury Bank offers customers notifications in its official BT Mobile and BT Online applications, where it reports on the movements, which take place on both of the Bank's channels.

It also has SMS and emails, detailing the transactions, which they carry out within the secure environment offered by the financial institution.

Security Tips include: Do not share sensitive information with third parties such as phones, access to links, misleading offers, credit cards, rewards or account updates

When you enter the Banco del Tesoro website, verify that it is: https://www.bt.com.ve, activate two-step verification on electronic devices and do not share the authentication code, and periodically change the password to enter BT Online.
