Barinas authorities guarantee full food supply in the region

The logistics system for the production and distribution of food in the state of Barinas is fully guaranteed, according to the food commissioner of the government of this entity and director of the Territorial Unit of the Ministry for Food, Edgar Guillén.

He assured that the storage and transport phases operate normally, so he made a direct call to citizens to remain calm and avoid nervous purchases or preventive hoarding, in a review published on the Último Noticias portal,

He also argued that supply stability responds to the activation of coordinated strategic plans between the national and regional executive, designed to maintain the flow of basic products in the face of any eventuality.

Guillén highlighted that a protection scheme has been implemented in production plants through the presence of security forces, with the objective of certifying the operational continuity and maintenance of the industrial infrastructure in the entity.

Regarding points of sale, the official report indicates that both the public network, comprised of MERCAL and PDVAL, and private commercial establishments, have sufficient inventories to meet local demand.

It was also confirmed that the municipal markets of Barinas maintain their operations at their usual times, offering basic products with the discounts corresponding to current social programs.

The declaration seeks to build consumer confidence and ensure that access to the basic basket is uninterrupted in the territory of Barinas.
