Barinas deepens its participatory and direct democracy in the II National Popular Consultation 2025

This Sunday, the II National Popular Consultation 2025 takes place, in which citizens of the state of Barinas participate in voting centers authorized to exercise their democratic right and choose the community projects that will mark the development of their communities.
Mervin Abreu, spokesperson for the Planning Council of the Marine District Bicentennial Cycle 1810-2010-1830-2030, highlighted the importance of this day: “Today we are here exercising our right, proposing projects that were selected in previous elections and complying with regulations. We are deepening our direct, participatory and leading democracy, as our commander Hugo Chávez said and as indicated by our chief commander Nicolás Maduro.”
For his part, Omar Hernández emphasized the transformative nature of this consultation: “Participation is a duty and a right of all Venezuelans in this participatory and decision-making democracy. Thanks to our president Nicolás Maduro, who has given us confidence and funding, the People's Power can carry out its projects. Venezuela today is a beacon of dignity for the peoples of the world.”
It should be noted that at the national level, the Second National Popular Consultation 2025 mobilized more than 5,336 communes and communal circuits, as well as 47,214 communal councils.
For its part, the National Electoral Council (CNE) enabled 5,718 voting centers and 7,048 polling stations across the country to ensure an agile and transparent process.
