Beach volleyball qualified for the World Cup in Bolivia 2026

The Venezuelan beach volleyball pairs comprised of María Chacín and Valeria Moreno, along with Santiago Camejo and Diego Hernández, secured their ticket to the 2026 World Championship in the qualifier held in Cochabamba, Bolivia, from April 24 to May 1.
The pair of Chacín and Moreno won the runner-up in the women's tournament, after falling in the final 2-1 (14-21, 21-16, 20-18) against the Paraguayan Clara Torres and Sofía Martínez.
On their way to the grand final, the Criollas showed a great performance in Group C.
They opened the tournament by beating the Chilean duo of Valentina Vásquez and Josefa Dowson 2-0 (21-11, 21-14).
They also prescribed the same 2-0 (21-14, 21-8) doses to Bolivians Lucía Terán and Jhuliana Fuentes and secured their passage to the direct elimination round as leaders of their group.
In the quarterfinals, they defeated the highlands Valentina Subirana and Regina Martínez 2-0 (21-9, 21-16) and in the semifinals 2-0 (21-10,21-19) the Brazilians of Leticia Schwalb and Kiara Ernesto, who secured them the silver medal.
For their part, the other Venezuelan duo formed by Paulina Caraballo and Valery Arcila ranked sixth in the general standings after falling 2-0 (21-13, 21-4) to Argentinian Ángeles Frascaroli and Isabela García.
International debut
In the same way, Santiago Camejo and Diego Hernández finished fourth in the overall standings in their international debut.
First they beat Colombians Mateo Rodríguez and Martín Gaviria 2-1 (21-16,31-21,15-12) and then 2-0 (21-9,21-7) beat Bolivians Jairo Tamo and Boris Barrientos in Group C.
Then, in the quarterfinals, the duo beat the Ecuadorian line-up of Vinicio Cedeño and Alfredo Vélez 2-1 (21-13, 18-21, 17-15).
But minutes later, they fell 2-0 (16-21, 18-21) in the semifinals to the Chilean pair of Gael Arias and Francisco Valdivia.
Finally, they yielded 2-1 (18-21, 21-18, 15-12) to Argentinian Zac Osatinski and Nahuel Cornejo in the third-place match.
In addition, Johnny Caldera and Moisés Yépez ranked thirteenth in the general classification.
With this outstanding performance, Chacín and Moreno, as well as Camejo and Hernández, obtained their ticket to the Beach Volleyball World Cup to be held in the Netherlands from July 9 to 12.
