Before the UN, Cuba described the actions being committed by the United States against Venezuela as barbaric and criminal.

The permanent representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ernesto Soberón, urged the international community to respond urgently to the barbaric and criminal actions being committed by the United States against Venezuela, which pose a threat to international peace and security.

During his speech to the Security Council of the United Nations, he stated that the United States Armed Forces attacked Venezuela in an act of extreme cruelty and treason, which he described as unacceptable and barbaric.

Soberón condemned the kidnapping of Venezuela's constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and the first lady, Cilia Flores, and called for their immediate release.

Cuba calls on the international community to respond urgently to this criminal attack,” he added.

He also reiterated his absolute support for the Venezuelan people and government.
