Bicentennial Reading Plan brings older adults together in days of historical reflection

The National Bicentennial Reading Plan advances in every transitory camp in the country, this time with a day especially dedicated to older adults, who assumed the space as “Reborn in honor of our families”, an expression that reflects the wisdom and sensitivity with which they participate in this cultural program.

This was announced by the Minister of Communication and Information, Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela, through his social networks, detailing that in the UENB Santa Eduviges transitory camp, located in the La Guaira Airport neighborhood, grandmothers and grandparents joined the activities coordinated by the Sectorial Vice Presidency for Communication and Culture and the Bicentennial Presidential Commission, focused on reading and analysis of texts on the thought and work of El Libertador Simón Bolívar.

In this regard, the journalist, cultural promoter and godmother of the plan, Marialcira Matute, stressed that these days allow “reading with the Liberator” by integrating older adults into dynamics that strengthen historical memory, national identity and generational exchange.

This activity reaffirms the commitment to bring reading habits and cultural formation to all sectors, to recognize the value of older adults as guardians of tradition and protagonists of the collective construction of hope.
