The United States Department of State (USA) notified Congress of the approval of arms sales for 8 billion dollars to Israel, despite the fact that numerous Democratic legislators have called on the outgoing administration and the defeated presidential candidate Kamala Harris to stop sending weapons to the Zionist regime of Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the Axios portal, the package destined for Israel would include ammunition for combat planes and attack helicopters, as well as artillery projectiles.
The transaction, which must be approved by the Foreign Relations Committee of both the Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, also includes several types of small-diameter bombs and also warheads weighing more than 200 kilos.

According to the publication, this is possibly the final transaction of the Democratic Administration before the return to the White House of the now president-elect Donald Trump, who will take office on January 20.

“This is a long-term agreement. Some of the production and delivery of ammunition can be done with the current stock in the United States possession, but most will take one or more years to deliver,” Axios said.

In recent months, numerous Democratic legislators, including figures such as Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have demanded that the Biden Government stop sending aid to the Israeli state, citing human rights violations in the Gaza Strip, including the impossibility of bringing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian enclave.

The demand from the party's progressive wing was also directed at then-Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. In both cases, the claims were dismissed.

According to official figures, the number of victims in Gaza since the beginning of Israel's military operation has exceeded 45,000 deaths, almost 70% of whom are minors and women. In addition, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes.
