Vinotinto Futsal qualified for the round of 16 of the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup, which takes place in Uzbekistan, after beating Guatemala 7-3 at the close of Group F.
Those led by Robinson Romero came to the match with the obligation to win by a large goal difference to secure their pass as one of the best third (by at least four goals apart), a task that he managed to accomplish.
Venezuela was better from the first minutes of the game, with great pressure in the upper part and taking advantage of the spaces left by the Guatemalan defense, it achieved a resounding victory.
The goals came courtesy of Kevin “Killer” Briceño who led the Vinotinto team to victory with a triplet, while Wilmer Cabarcas, Víctor Carreño, Jesús Viamonte and Carlos Sanz each scored one goal.
Vinotinto will have a tough test in the Round of 16, and will face the Spanish National Team on Wednesday, September 25.
