The municipality of Piar, in the state of Bolívar, will host the conference “Body in Time: Past, Present and Future of Dance in Bolivar State”, scheduled for next Saturday, May 9, within the framework of the International Day of Dance.

The activity will take place at the María Cova Fernández House of Culture of the Manuel Piar Cultural Center, starting at 9:00 in the morning, with the participation of cultivators, students and researchers from the area.

The event, organized by the entity's Dance Movement together with students from the Kleber Ramírez Territorial Polytechnic University of Mérida, seeks to create a space for reflection on the evolution of dance, from its historical roots to contemporary challenges, integrating research with performing practice to strengthen the training and professionalization of the sector.

During the day, issues related to cultural management, nationalist dance and the construction of a documentary record that preserves the historical memory of the region and serves as a basis for new creative processes will be addressed.

As a result, a State Plan is expected to be drawn up that will reflect the union's main conclusions and needs for the next decade, with the objective of designing structural solutions and consolidating support for the cultivators of the Bolivar state.
