Bolivarian Government advances in the construction of the country's first National Agrourban School

Jhoanna Carrillo , head of the Ministry of Popular Power of Urban Agriculture (MINPPAU), oversaw the progress of the construction of the Carlos Lanz National Agrourban and Agroecological School, located at the headquarters of the Ciara Foundation, in San Martín, San Juan parish, Bolivarian Libertador municipality in Caracas.

On this occasion, the head of the agro-urban portfolio, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Agrourban Training and Culture, Saúl Osío and the general director of the Foundation for Training and Innovation to Support the Agrarian Revolution (CIARA), Suleima Parra, said that they are verifying the progress made in the construction of the important school, which will be the first agro-urban and agroecological school in the country.

“We have verified the quality of the work and the diversity of spaces that will allow the optimal development of classes and practices, as well as research, knowledge, recreation and debate,” he said.

For his part, Saúl Osío, Deputy Minister of Training and Agrourban Culture, said that the project is “a space for integral development for knowledge, which we are pursuing, we are going to have a seed reservoir, a soil laboratory, classrooms and the administrative headquarters of our Carlos Lanz Agrourban School”.

He stressed that part of teaching also integrates an agro-tourism logic. “What is being created here is going to be very good and Venezuela is greening,” he concluded.

Recovery and Community: Ana Karina Rote

The occasion was propitious for the owner of the agro-urban portfolio, Jhoanna Carrillo, to take a tour of the spaces of the Ana Karina Rote Agrourban Tourism District, located in the San Juan parish, in Caracas, with the objective of visualizing the progress of the aforementioned productive space.

On this occasion, the owner of the agro-urban portfolio expressed the commitment of the MINPPAU to the care and recovery of productive spaces. “We came to the parish of San Juan, to the Ana Karina Rot commune, a commitment that we assumed. Here we are inspecting how this work is going, which we will soon deliver.”

The Minister highlighted the participation and empowerment of women and the community in the project. “Women, the commune, organized people are empowered here, where the Caracas Agrourban Movement also joined.”

For her part, Alix Forero, Deputy Minister of Agrourban Productive Development, expressed the importance of remembering the attacks of the Guarimbas and the economic war. “This space was attacked during the guarimbas, which blocked the country's production. He was a victim of that policy of the Venezuelan opposition, which sought to generate hunger, anxiety and violence.”

Forero highlighted the recovery work carried out. “Together with the Agrourban Movement, the communes and the MINPPAU, we recovered this space. Ve Nezuela is greening, and everyone has done their bit, with a lot of heart, to make this place a productive area for the Ana Karina Rote commune”.

The Deputy Minister mentioned the integration of the community in the project. “This is where the educational units and our grandparents and grandmothers in the sector are linked. This space has both vegetable and animal production areas, and offers training for those who want to produce come, here they teach you how to prepare compost, cultivate in protected crop houses, in flower beds and also on animal husbandry. These colleagues are becoming production experts,” he said.

In addition, Gisela Rodríguez, spokesperson for the Commune, expressed her gratitude to the entire MINPPAU team, who make it possible to recover productive space. “Here at Agrotourism Ana Karina, we want to thank the MINPPAU and its entire team that has put effort and effort into the recovery, as President Maduro says, producing is winning and we will win, we are committed to this mission.”
