Bolivarian Government and Archdiocese of Caracas coordinate care for 36 affected churches

The Bolivarian Government, through the Sectorial Vice Presidency of Public Works and Services, held a working meeting with the Archbishop of Caracas, Monsignor Raúl Biord Castillo, to coordinate the rehabilitation plan for 36 temples and churches affected by the earthquakes of last June 24.

During the meeting, led by the sectoral vice-president, Juan José Ramírez, the technical diagnoses carried out on religious buildings were evaluated, with the purpose of defining priority actions for their recovery.

As part of the planning, it was agreed to immediately intervene 26 churches in Caracas and 10 temples in the state of La Guaira, through structural evaluation work, roof repair, façade consolidation and restoration of architectural elements of historical and heritage value.

The work seeks to guarantee safe conditions for the parishioners and to contribute to the recovery of worship spaces located in areas affected by the double earthquake.
