Bolivarian Government and WHO study proposal for water sanitation and waste management

The Ministry of People's Power for Health (MPPS) together with the World Health Organization (WHO) are studying a proposal for comprehensive technical cooperation to contribute to water sanitation and waste management in the areas most affected by the earthquakes of June 24.
As reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), the strategy includes the establishment of an information system for managing WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) data during emergencies and the implementation of work, directly in the health services network.
The evaluation was carried out during a working table that took place this Wednesday, which was attended by Deputy Minister Magda Magris, members of the international organization and authorities of the General Directorate of Environmental Health of the national governing body.
In addition, the Health Authority explained that preventive measures will be implemented through health education days and immunization schedules, including the timely administration of antimalarial treatments and the yellow fever vaccine.
The joint idea for cooperation came after several days of work focused on strengthening institutional response capacity in the Capital District and in the states of La Guaira and Miranda.
