The Barcelona City Hall began work on Buenos Aires street, the main access road to this coastal area, where the only fish processing plant in the state of Anzoátegui also operates.
The objective is to build a kilometer of track in the fishing area par excellence of Barcelona, Maurica.
Through the Barcelona Works and Services Corporation (CORPOBAE), attached to the Secretariat of Human Cities and Infrastructure, engineering work is being carried out to pave this stretch, which directly benefits more than 100 families, fishermen and adjacent sectors.
Mayor Sugey Herrera explained that the surface is leveled with granzón, and then paved with the emptying of more than 2,000 tons of asphalt and building pitchers on the sides of the road.
The complete project will make it possible to fully recover this road, with its demarcation, lighting and placement of some 600 reflective tacks (cat's eyes).
Herrera recalled that this work is a commitment to the Bahía de Barcelona commune that will have a positive impact on quality of life and better conditions for those who live and transit through Maurica on a daily basis.
The construction of the paved road begins at the intersection of Costanera Avenue to the fish plant, with the objective of ensuring safe traffic both for fishermen and residents, and for customers who converge in this fishing area.
As complementary work, the sanitation of the adjacent stream on that road will be carried out.
