The Bolivarian Government, together with the Government of Táchira, begins the construction of a retaining wall with the objective of mitigating risks associated with landslides and floods.
The announcement was made by the governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, who explained that it is an ambitious infrastructure project aimed at protecting the most vulnerable communities in the face of the rainy season.
“This is the construction of a 240-meter-long retaining wall in a strategic area of the state,” Bernal said.
He also assured that Táchira can be sure that despite the contingencies, there is a governor, mayors and the unrestricted support of President Nicolás Maduro, ready to serve the population of Tachira.
Bernal also reported that light vehicles have been authorized to pass to and from Colombia, which represents a significant step forward in the normalization of border traffic and a boost for binational trade, tourism and citizen mobility between the two countries.
