The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, announced this Monday the call for revolutionary forces to hold large marches across the country in the face of the attempts of violence that the extreme right is trying to generate after the victory of President Nicolás Maduro in the presidential elections of this July 28.

In statements to the media, Rodríguez criticized that for the fascist opposition “elections are nothing more than an opportunity for violence and that is what they are trying to do right now, and we tell them we are not going to allow it, President Nicolás Maduro will not allow it, the Public Powers of the Venezuelan State will not allow it and above all the People of Venezuela will not allow it,” he said.

In this regard, he called on the People “to large marches tomorrow (July 30) at 2 in the afternoon, from Petare to Miraflores, from Catia to Miraflores, from La Vega to Miraflores, from El Valle to Miraflores, to celebrate our victory, but above all to defend the peace of the Republic”.

He stressed that this time they will not be able to generate violence either and extended the call “to all the forces of the Venezuelan revolutionary people to make big marches in their cities, in their states. It was an electoral campaign characterized by exchange, by the encounter of nine candidates with their followers”, while “the other (the representative of extremism) was organizing the shock force for the day after”.

Rodríguez emphasized that, “no matter how much the media deny us and you (the extremists) deny us, the next day we also exist and are the majority and that is why we are going to the streets to defend peace, even from you lady who comes to El Cafetal, to you man who lives in La Florida, we are defending your right to peace,” he said.

“We will be in the thousands from all four cardinal points that came out on the day of the closing of the campaign to fold all the avenues of this capital. We are going to Miraflores to defend our right to life, our right to freedom and above all our right to choose and to defend the result of that election,” he stressed.
